Goals for 2015

character line4_1300

{Spring Fashion sketch} by Kat

I have bigger and better things planned for 2015! (And my favorite number is 15, so I know this year is going to be a good one) I feel as though I’ve slacked in posting last year. I made mistakes, got discouraged, and gave up too quickly.  This year I’m starting out with a brand new attitude. I’ve learned from my past failures and I’m ready to keep on top of my projects. My sister and I will continue to have fun with the blog and we hope to take you guys along for the ride!

2015 goals V2

I didn’t get a chance to prepare a New Years DIY for the blog, but instead of leaving you empty handed here are a couple snapshots of DIYs I whipped up.

2015 Here we go…..

Stay awesome,

Chris & Kat

Be Merry

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Today is a day to be merry and enjoy the company of loved ones! I know I am definitely relaxing today, getting cozy with Sam, and watching all the Christmas movies I can squeeze in a day. Here is my Spotify playlist that I’ve been slowly building throughout the month of December. Warning: there are a lot of songs and IT WILL keep you in the Christmas mood all day long!

With love,

Christine & Kat

Cozy Daze

Cozy Daze V2

With colder days ahead (because winter has not hit Houston yet), I am preparing for the hibernation. I’ve started stocking up on pajama pants, hot cocoa, a ton of holiday movies and some good books!

No one needs a tutorial on how to be cozy because that’s second nature to everyone. But what we do need help with sometimes is deciding on what tools we will need in order to achieve maximum coziness! So here are some of my cozy essentials for frigid winter days.

The most crucial part to my cozy day is having a fuzzy dog next to me while I relax (Sam also doubles as my foot warmer). If Sam refuses to let me warm my feet under her then I will most likely have warm lounging socks on because my extremities always freeze over first. If you find me sitting on the couch, you can bet I’m in my PJs like these ones from Aerie, bundled up with a soft throw. Depending on my mood you can find me enjoying Netflix or reading a feel good book. You can always bet I’ll have a cute mug filled with either coffee, tea or hot chocolate. When I wind down at night, I like to lay in my bed surrounded by a cloud of comforters (like the Parachute bedding) to keep me toasty while I catch up on my favorite Youtubers. And lastly, my cozy day is not complete without candles lit everywhere. Recently, I’ve been loving the scent of Christmas tree pine or a natural fireside scent. It makes the winter season come alive in my place!

Hope you’re having a happy festive holiday week so far!

Tis the Season to Give

I know this is pretty last minute, but I know there are some procrastinators out there just like me! So from one procrastinator to another, here is what I’ve stumbled upon on my quest for quirky gifts for my friends and family! Did I forget to mention that these gifts are all under $60! Gifting on a budget just became less stressful. You’re welcome!

Spring 2015 Pantone Colors

Pantone Colors Header
Pantone has revealed the colors of Spring 2015! It’s a fresh take on the pastels, and it’s getting me excited for the season.

Andddddd *Drumroll* The Pantone Color of 2015 is Marsala! It’s a lighter burgundy color and my favorite color! describes the color as “A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.” Variations of the shade essentially look just like the wine/burgundy colors that you find all over retailers. Here are some ideas on how you can incorporate the color into your outfits:

Covet: Madewell

Beauty in the basic. Madewell has got the basics down! I appreciate when designers reinvent the basic and turn it into something unique. Is it just me or do you also get excited when you see a retailer’s catalog in your mail? I love drawing inspiration from Madewell’s detailed catalogs! Every outfit is styled with grace and the photography is just so dreamy. I just wanted to quickly share my favorite cold weather clothing pieces from the Fall/Winter collection!

My all-time favorite piece out of this Fall/Winter collection is the black leather jacket (the price makes me cry a little inside, but the quality in the leather is noice). I’ve been dying to buy a new one and so far I can just dream about Madewell’s perfection.

Over the hump and on to the weekend! I am READY to unwind and lay in bed ALL WEEKEND!

Plaid is Rad

how to wear plaid

We all know plaid is one of the most festive prints to wear for the holiday season, but sometimes it can be a bit tricky to style. Head on over to the blog, myCosmeticBag, to see my tips and tricks for stylin’ plaid for Fall (even though it feels like Winter right now).

Currently, I’ve hit an all time low on DIY creativity or any blog posts in general for R&R! Be patient with us and we will get back on track once again!

Thanks for reading ❤

Halloween & Stuff

IMG_5644.JPGHappy Halloween! Stay safe tonight, eat lots of candy, and have lots of fun! Here are some of the people, places and #DIYs I’ve been loving this week!

I’ve been in love with Jennet Liaw‘s typography! Just so effortless and simple. You can follow her Instagram and see what new creations she’s  I recently purchased a print of my own (see pic below). I love the quote: Stay Humble, Hustle Hard.

IMG_5596-0.JPGI’m in love with Studio DIY’s costume idea…..So if you follow me on Instagram, you should know I love ice cream. Once you see her costume DIY then you’ll understand why I love this so much!

I’m in love with doing flat lays! There’s a satisfaction in finding items and cohesively setting them up in a picture. If you love seeing more of the pictures above then you should definitely follow me on Instagram @ Heychrisslee!

In love with Kat’s new Society6 shop! Get a cute pillow for yourself or as a gift! More nifty gifties on her site! Check em out!

In love with plaid. This one or even this one (and it’s only $6!)! I’d wear both of those!
